Behavioral Persuasion Framework skill
The Behavioral Persuasion Framework skill is a personal skill in the Optimizely Opal Skills Directory that grounds your marketing in the behavioral science behind enterprise buying decisions, covering cognitive biases, social proof, loss aversion, anchoring, scarcity, and reciprocity.
It applies only to you. Any Opal user can install and configure it.
Skill details
- Shortcut – /behavioral-persuasion-framework
- Type – Personal skill
- Setup – Required
What the skill does
- Applies behavioral economics to campaigns, landing pages, sales assets, and pricing copy, aimed at risk-averse buying committees.
- Chooses from nine business-to-business persuasion models and three pricing models, based on where your deals stall and how you price.
- Tags every recommendation as either framework-based or needs validation, and names how you validate framings before scaling spend.
- Follows three fixed ethics rules: no false scarcity, no manipulative friction, and no fabricated authority.
Before you begin
- Any Opal user can install this skill. Opal saves it as your own personal skill.
- Have your answers and files ready. Opal asks for them during setup.
Information Opal asks for
Opal asks for the following during setup. You can skip optional items.
- What You Sell and the Outcome It Produces (Required) – Your product and the result customers get.
- Buyer and Buying Committee (Required) – Who buys and who influences the decision.
- Where Deals Actually Stall (Required) – Where deals slow or die. Opal reads this first to choose models.
- Pricing and Packaging (Required) – How you price and package.
- Proof Cleared to Claim (Optional) – Approved proof points, one per line. If you skip this, Opal treats nothing as proven.
- Proof and Compliance Source Document (Optional) – A file that backs your proof points.
- Copy That Already Shipped and Passed Review (Optional) – Approved copy samples, which set voice.
- Brand or Messaging Guide (Optional) – Your brand or messaging guide.
- How You Validate a Framing Before Scaling Spend (Optional) – Your test or research process. If you give a vague answer, Opal's validation tags are vague too.
- Organization-Specific Claim Rules (Optional) – Extra claim rules. If you skip this, only the three ethics rules apply.
