Skills are the foundational context, rules, and behavioral guidelines that shape how Opal creates output and tailors it to your unique needs. Skills were previously called Instructions.
Create an organization-wide skill
Organization skills let Opal administrators define consistent, reusable guidance that shapes how Opal responds across your organization. When you create a skill , you define the objective, the steps Opal follows, the response format, and the conditions that activate it.
Create a personal skill
Personal skills let you define how Opal behaves specifically for you and apply only to your interactions. Use them to capture your preferences, working style, and custom behaviors so Opal consistently matches how you work.
Create or edit a skill with the skills builder
Use the skills builder to create reliable skills automatically in Optimizely Opal Chat . The skills builder is a design-time AI assistant in Optimizely Opal.
Manage skills
Skills give Optimizely Opal additional context about how to behave and when to run. Opal evaluates all available skills and determines which ones apply to the current task.
Import and export skills
Export a skill as a JSON file to share it across teams, back it up, or reuse it elsewhere. Import a skill to add it to your skills list without rebuilding it from scratch.
