Get started with CMS
Optimizely Content Management System (CMS) provides powerful web content management capabilities, available through an intuitive user interface, letting experienced and occasional users work efficiently with content. When your Optimizely system and related services are set up, you will receive the permission keys and credentials needed to access the user interface.
Optimizely Opal Chat for CMS 12
Prerequisites You must have Optimizely Content Management System (CMS 12) hosted in Optimizely Digital Experience Platform (DXP). Your CMS 12 instance must be enabled for Opti ID.
User interface
The toolbar and the panels in the Optimizely Content Management System (CMS) edit view provide easy access to functions when working with content. When entering the edit view, you have the top menu and the toolbar at the top, and adjustable panes to the left and right.
CMS dashboard
The Optimizely Content Management System (CMS) dashboard displays information about your content that lets you access it from one place. Click on any of the Workflow Status tabs, and click any link names to go directly to edit the page.
GEO Analytics for CMS (PaaS)
The GEO Analytics dashboard is a legacy feature and is available only for customers who received access before May 31, 2026. Switch to the Agent Visibility dashboard in Optimizely Analytics, which provides additional request intent and enriched Optimizely Opal facets data for more robust and action-oriented analysis.
On-Page Editing view
You see on-page editing when accessing the edit view in Optimizely Content Management System (CMS). From here, you can start editing content; the areas available for editing are highlighted.
All Properties editing view
The All Properties editing view provides editing access to all properties available for content, including those not available in the On-Page Editing view. Select All Properties in the toolbar to access these additional properties.
