Introduction to countdown timers
The countdown timer lets you increase your recipients’ attention and conversion rates by counting down the time until your offer runs out. The countdown timer displays the number of days, minutes, hours and seconds currently remaining on an offer, regardless of when a recipient opens your newsletter.
How countdown timers work
Optimizely Campaign support two types of countdown timers Non-animated countdown timer with static display of time remaining. If you integrate a non-animated countdown timer into your mailing, when the recipient opens the mailing, a static image with the currently remaining time is generated, loaded into your mailing, and displayed.
Preparing graphics
To prepare a graphical countdown timer, you need image editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop a product image or key visual You need to create a key visual image that is displayed above the countdown timer and a second image that is the background of the countdown timer. The key visual image must meet this condition width between 100 and 800 pixels The background image must meet these conditions width between 100 and 800 pixels (should be the same as the key visual image) maximum 256 colors (otherwise colors will be displayed incorrectly later) should be a single color or a simple image (will be converted to an animated gif file with 60 frames; that file must not exceed 1.
Creating and managing countdown timers
To create and manage countdown timers, open the Optimizely Campaign menu and select More > Countdown Timer . Prerequisite Prepared background image, see Preparing graphics .
Inserting countdown timers into messages
You can insert a countdown timer into a message by itself, or combine it with a product image/key visual to make a single graphic. Select your message and click Edit… .
