Configure the dashboard

You can plug in your components directly through the component plug-in functionality. However, you cannot set up different dashboards for different roles.

Views

A view is composed of a definition of the basic structure and components that plug into areas. The view and component definitions define basic behavior and a client-side widget responsible for creating the user interface.

Modify a view through configuration

The following example shows how to add a component (for a view through configuration) to the Main area plug-in path of the Test view. definitionName usually maps against the full name of the class, including namespace.

Plug-in components into a view

When you create a component definition, you can automatically plug the component definition into a view by defining plug-in paths to one or several containers. A plug-in path is a unique string that describes the plug-in area.
