The Classic Content Management System (CMS) within the Optimizely Configured Commerce platform was built from the ground up with robust options to give you greater control over the content displayed on a website. This content can be targeted to users of a specific audience based on their language, device, or persona and placed within pages created from scratch or from templates.
Responsive design in Classic CMS
Responsive Web pages are web pages designed to change their presentation and orientation depending on the type of device viewing the web page. This means you can have a single web page that displays differently on a smartphone, a tablet, and a desktop computer.
Access Classic CMS from the Admin Console

Set up Classic CMS roles
To add, edit, review, and approve content in the Admin Console or Classic CMS, Optimizely Configured Commerce users must be assigned the appropriate roles ISC ContentEditor – Users may add and edit content ISC ContentApprover – Users may preview, approve, and publish content ISC ContentAdmin – Users may add, edit, preview, approve, and publish content. Additionally, this role can create and edit page templates.
Edit in-context in Classic CMS
Use Optimizely Configured Commerce to directly modify content on your website from within the website, without having to use the Admin Console. This lets you make and see changes immediately, alongside the rest of the website content.
Copy content between websites and environments
Use the Import/Export Content option in Classic CMS to transfer content between websites and environments, such as to promote content created in a sandbox environment to your production environment. You need a role of ISC ContentAdmin , ISC Admin , ISC Implementer , or ISC System to access this functionality.
Use the Mega Menu in Classic CMS
The Responsive Header Template, also known as the Mega Menu , is a menu template option that expands the website menu horizontally instead of vertically. This template allows content users to change the look of their site quickly without needing to build such a template from scratch.
Page column image sizing in Classic CMS
For large screens (desktops), here are the recommended max pixel widths for images to fill their column For mobile screens, columns stack so that everything becomes 1 column. Here is how the different image sizes display on small screens With mobile screens in mind, images that are less than 410 pixels wide (height does not matter) will not fill their container on many mobile screens (that is columns have a max width of 410 pixels on smaller screens).
