Release: 5.2.2608.672+lts
Features and bug fixes
- Fixed the issue where a Spire storefront's internal content API calls returned 401 Unauthorized after a user signed in. Pages loaded normally for anonymous visitors but broke for authenticated users.
- Fixed the issue where Classic CMS storefronts showed the browser's default 404 page instead of the site's error page. This affected .NET Core sites when a visitor requested a URL that does not exist.
- Added an automatic fallback to Elasticsearch when a request to the Commerce Search v3 service fails. Storefront search stays available while you investigate the underlying issue. See Limitations of Commerce Search v3.
- Fixed the issue where the Admin Console did not show which custom properties had no value stored in the database. These properties are now flagged when you edit a record.
- Fixed the issue where products with a placeholder sale date of 0001-01-01 failed to index into Commerce Search v3. Those products did not appear in storefront search results.
- Fixed the issue where brand and product names ending in the letter y disappeared from search results and autocomplete. This happened when the name also contained a ®, ™, or © symbol.
- Fixed the issue where a product recommendations carousel kept showing the previous page's products. This happened when the new page returned no recommendations.
- Fixed the issue where sign-in pages still showed a single sign-on (SSO) option after it was disabled. The storefront and Admin Console now honor both Allow Sign in With OpenId Connect and Allow Sign in With Windows Account.
- Fixed the issue where creating an account with a space in the user name failed with Microsoft.AspNetCore.Identity.IdentityError on .NET Core sites. Validation messages now show a readable description.
- Fixed the issue where Opti ID users could not sign in to the Admin Console when another account shared their email.
- Fixed the issue where the Rebuild Product Search Index job returned Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type int. when a product's Basic List Price or Basic Sale Price was 2,147,483,648 or higher.
- Fixed the issue where exporting Users with the Roles column returned An item with the same key has already been added. when a user belonged to more than one customer.
- Fixed an issue where bearer-token-only sessions (such as from a mobile app) appeared signed out and showed Sign in for pricing after the browser cookie was cleared.
- Fixed an issue where a malformed or empty PayFlow Pro (TokenEx) gateway response was recorded as a successful transaction even though the payment failed.
- Fixed an issue where client-disconnect exceptions were logged as Error on the Admin Console's Application Logs page; these now log as Debug so they no longer appear during normal operation.
- Fixed an issue where the application displayed a generic error page instead of the custom error page when handling certain exceptions.
- Fixed an issue where the Export Historical Orders and Export Offline Orders jobs timed out on sites with a large number of orders. The underlying query now completes significantly faster.
- Fixed an issue where the dealer location details page displayed content in the wrong language after switching the site locale multiple times.
- Fixed several visual issues left over from the CMS rebranding, including an outdated color on the scheduled-page indicator, misaligned page tree item titles, and old-style buttons in list fields.
- Added a File Picker field for CMS widgets, letting editors click Add File to attach non-image files like PDFs. The Image Picker field now clears its selection when a non-image file is chosen, instead of leaving a stale path.
- Fixed the issue where menus, filters, radio buttons, and version history still used the old styling in the Spire CMS.
- Fixed the issue where concurrent integration jobs failed intermittently, stayed stuck InProgress, and dropped off their recurring schedule.
- Fixed the issue where Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) requests to a redirected URL returned a 500 error.
- Fixed the issue where the DeactivateInactiveUsers job timed out on sites with large order volumes.
- Fixed the issue where the storefront Create User modal ignored Translation Dictionary entries for role names.
- Fixed the issue where Spire server-side rendering sent duplicate request headers differing only in case, breaking requests behind Cloudflare.
- Fixed the issue where completing PunchOut checkout on .NET Core storefronts returned JSON instead of redirecting to the procurement site.
- Fixed the issue where server-side rendering logged a spurious setSessionCookies called with empty cookies warning on every cookie-less request.
- Added a redirect allow-list so Spire sites can redirect visitors to approved external domains again, restoring the cross-domain URL redirects that an earlier security change had blocked.
- Fixed the issue where Rebuild Index could fail to complete on Commerce Search v2 and v3, leaving the product, category, or content index incomplete.
- Fixed the issue where a search index rebuild failed during content indexing on .NET Framework 4.8 sites.
- Fixed the issue where category navigation links and menu items intermittently displayed Cache_Item_Empty instead of the category name.
- Fixed the issue where a real-time Order Submit job stayed In Progress indefinitely when the integration connector threw an exception. The job now ends with a Failure status.
- Fixed the issue where Spire logs were flooded with Failed to load font css errors for Google Fonts requests that actually succeeded.
- Fixed the issue where buttons in the Search micro-frontend (MFE) did not match the updated Optimizely branding.
- Fixed the issue where custom front-end packages did not work in local Spire development after the move to pnpm.
- Fixed the issue where Commerce Search v3 searches were slow to return on sites with a large number of attribute values.
- Fixed the issue where product detail pages returned Page Not Found instead of redirecting to the Sign In page when Sign In Required was enabled.
- Fixed the issue where a Spire production build failed when a dependency package was missing its license file.
- Fixed the issue where uploading a larger image (about 30 MB or more) to the Media Library failed on .NET Core storefronts.
- Fixed the issue where asynchronous widgets did not receive their default field values on cloud-hosted sites.
- Refreshed the Spire CMS interface with updated Optimizely branding, giving content editors a look and feel consistent with the rest of the platform.
- Fixed the issue where the administration console failed to load after upgrading to a .NET Core (Linux) instance.
- Fixed website-level cookies being reset on page navigation in Classic .NET Core storefronts after migrating to Linux.
- Updated button font weight from Regular to Medium in the Admin Console as part of the ongoing rebranding, improving button label readability.
- Fixed a NullReferenceException in RetrievePageService.GetUrlByTypeAndLanguageId that caused the first SSO login attempt to fail.
- Fixed a validation error on the Admin Console website user profile page.
- Added the Application Insights Enable Sql Command Text setting to the Admin Console. When enabled, Configured Commerce sends SQL command text to Azure Application Insights for query-level diagnostics.
- Fixed saved Spreedly payment profiles being submitted with required billing address fields left empty.
- Fixed the Cancel button on the Change Customer page not reverting Fulfillment Method changes made without clicking Apply.
- Fixed integration jobs becoming stuck on .NET Core sites after a job timed out and was cancelled. An InvalidUnitOfWorkResolutionException prevented the recurring job from running again without a manual reset.
- Added a data migration to preserve the V1 cart handler for existing sites during upgrade, preventing a silent switch to the V2 cart handler. Sites installed after this release default to V2.
- Improved Spire storefront caching to prevent stale content after deployments. JavaScript bundles now use content-hash filenames for reliable cache invalidation. .NET Core storefronts now return correct Cache-Control headers for HTML pages when etag caching is disabled.
- Fixed the issue where the Print button on the VMI location details page did not send an email on .NET 8 sites.
- Fixed the issue where completing an order on .NET Core sites did not send an order event to Optimizely Data Platform (ODP).

- Fixed the issue where creating a restriction group with a customer rule skipped the Restriction step and then showed an unhandled error on the Summary step.
- Added the Mobile Refresh Token Lifetime Minutes and Mobile Absolute Refresh Token Lifetime Minutes system settings on .NET Core, which let implementers control how long a mobile app stays signed in before a user must sign in again.
- Fixed the issue where adding a new card in Saved Payments returned a 500 error for some payment gateways, such as Orbital and Payflow Pro.
- Fixed the issue where a classic site on .NET Core threw an error when rendering a product list or product detail page that used a custom search engine optimization (SEO) view.
- Fixed the issue where order history records were editable in the Admin Console on .NET Core sites, which let users save changes to completed orders. Order history fields are now read-only.
- Fixed the issue where the nightly maintenance job could fail with an out-of-memory error on .NET Core sites that had a large backlog of records to delete. Batch deletes now run as set-based SQL deletes that honor the configured batch size and command timeout.
- Updated the Admin Console color scheme and logo to reflect Optimizely's current branding.
- Fixed an issue where deploying a version upgrade could fail due to assembly load failures during startup. Assembly binding redirects now run earlier so upgrades deploy reliably.
- Fixed an issue where an error was intermittently logged in the Application Logs after running an index with Commerce Search v3.
- Fixed an issue on .NET Core storefronts where a user prompted to change their password received an internal server error (HTTP 500) after submitting a new password instead of being logged in.
- Fixed an issue in Commerce Search v3 where changing a product's type to Variant and rebuilding the index could cause variants to appear in search results with empty fields, breaking the Product Result widget on the search listing page. Affected variants are no longer shown in search results.
- Fixed an issue where multi-threaded integration jobs using the FieldMap post-processor could fail with a database concurrency error on .NET Core. Each data table operation now runs in an isolated context.
- Fixed an issue where launching the CMS from the Admin Console on non-Opti ID sites opened with the templated URL instead of the site vanity URL.
- Improved security.
- Fixed an issue where TinyMCE converted absolute URLs into relative URLs when saving content in the CMS admin.
- Hid archived websites from the View Website admin menu and the CMS Dashboard. Content editors now see only active websites when going between sites.
- Added an import prompt for standard Optimizely Data Platform (ODP) job definitions when the Enable ODP Tracking setting is turned on. The Admin Console now offers to install the ODP data-export job definitions, so administrators no longer need to create them manually. See Integrate Optimizely Data Platform.
- Fixed an issue where CKFinder experienced performance degradation when loading root-level S3 folders containing a large number of files but no subfolders, caused by the system loading all objects before confirming no subfolders existed.
- Fixed an issue where canceled jobs were still being processed after you migrated to NETCore.
- Fixed an error when you used absolute URLs for redirects.
- Improved security – Optimizely recommends that all customers on .NET Core versions update to this build

Release: 5.2.2604.644+lts
Features and bug fixes
- Added the Configure Commerce Search v3 controls setting to Commerce Search v3 system settings. This setting controls whether deactivated-product lookback uses the ModifiedOn or DeactivateOn date for Retail Search indexing.
- Optimized the categoryTree attribute to remove duplicates and cap values at 400, preventing indexing failures on large catalogs.
- Fixed the issue where integration jobs failed with the Error occurred getting IntegrationJob for Connection Internal log error on .NET 8+ environments.
- Fixed the issue where Admin Console users signed in with Opti ID were redirected to the homepage instead of the login page after session timeout (.NET 4.8 only).
- Fixed inconsistent bundle file sorting on .NET Core. Files within bundles are now sorted alphabetically to match .NET Framework, ensuring consistent bundle output across platforms.
- Increased the facet value limit on Search Results from 50 to 300 in Commerce Search v3 when Enable Dynamic Facets is disabled. Previously, attribute filters were capped at 50 values per attribute, hiding additional options on Search Results with large catalogs. The Search Service API applies the higher limit automatically, so customers on older releases benefit without code changes. Dynamically generated facets remain limited to 50 values. See Limitations of Commerce Search v3 for details.
- Improved Retail Search indexing to process only website/language combinations active in both the database and the Search Service. Previously, indexing attempted every active combination, causing errors or wasted work on websites not configured in the Search Service. Non-configured combinations are now logged for review, and indexing aborts with a logged error if no valid combinations remain.
- Commerce now handles Search Service rate limit (HTTP 429) errors when Commerce Search v3 is enabled.
- Autocomplete API – When the rate limit is exceeded (1,200 requests per minute), autocomplete temporarily returns empty results and directs you to the search page.
- Search API – When the rate limit is exceeded (300 requests per minute), search temporarily falls back to Elasticsearch until the rate limit resets. The system writes warning-level log entries at a throttled rate to avoid flooding the logs.
Note During a Search API fallback, search results can differ from the Commerce Search v3 results because Elasticsearch uses a different index. The fallback is temporary and resolves automatically when the rate limit resets.
- Azure AD B2C single sign-on (SSO) now works on .NET Core sites. Authentication resolves the emails claim correctly, which previously prevented B2C SSO from working with the .NET Core code path.
- Fixed an issue where Commerce Search v3 indexing displayed ObjectContext errors in the Job Log after a full index rebuild.
- Fixed an issue on .NET Core sites where the Export Product RSS Feed job failed with errors when the Product RSS Feed Include Variants setting was enabled. This also resolves related Entity Framework (EF) context disposal exceptions that occurred during site startup and integration jobs.
- Fixed an issue where single-field content translation through the Generate Translation modal failed when languages were configured with full culture codes (for example, en-US, fr-FR, pt-BR, or zh-CN). The translation path now normalizes language tags consistently, matching the behavior of bulk product translations.
- Fixed a filter parsing error in Google Retail Search that occurred when no products had StockedWarehouses data. Previously, the indexer did not register the stockedWarehouses attribute was not registered during indexing if no warehouse assignments existed, causing Stocked Items Only searches to fail and fall back to Elasticsearch. The indexer now registers the attribute so the filter works regardless of warehouse data.
- Fixed an issue where configuring the same allowedParents value on multiple page types caused only one page type to display in the page type selector. The filtering logic now uses case-insensitive matching so valid page types display correctly.
- Fixed an issue on the Order Details page where clicking Reorder displayed the page title in the toaster notification instead of the order number. This occurred when an order had an ERP order number but no web order number. The toaster now falls back to the ERP order number. For more information, see Turn on reordering.
- Fixed an issue where S3 file streaming failed in environments without Amazon Web Services (AWS) metadata (for example, Kubernetes pods without AWS environment variables). The RegionFinder in the AWS SDK could not resolve the signing region, causing file read operations to fail. The S3 client configuration now uses AuthenticationRegion for the read path. This provides the signing region without interfering with global endpoint routing.
- Extended custom entity registration to the Integration API. The GenerateCustomEntityDefinitions startup task now runs for the Storefront, Admin, and Integration apps, so entity definitions added by extensions are available through every app and not just the Storefront and Admin. See Where the entity is registered for more details.
- Fixed sorting on the Storefront User Administration page so the Name column now sorts by first name, matching the displayed First Name + Last Name order.
- Fixed the Add to List dialog to hide the Schedule an email reminder checkbox when Enable List Reminders is off, so administrators can no longer create reminders that cannot be edited or deleted.
- Fixed an issue where storefronts failed to boot when visitors declined marketing cookies in third-party consent tools. The Spire page renderer combined ODP events with site messages and translation dictionaries in one inline <script> block. Consent tools classified the whole block as marketing and blocked the data the storefront needed to boot. ODP events now render in their own inline <script> block, which lets consent tools classify each script independently.
- Added support to bypass CVV in credit card transactions for Adyen payment gateway.
Warning This hotfix moves two Commerce Search v3 classes to a new namespace. PerformCompleteQuery and ProcessCompleteQueryResponse move from Insite.Search.GoogleCloudRetailSearch.CompleteQuery to Insite.Search.GoogleCloudRetailSearch.CompleteQuery.Pipelines.Pipes.RunCompleteQuery. The change originally shipped in release 5.2.2604. For full details, see April 2026 release.
- Improved performance for databases with large product catalogs and product variants.
- Fixed the TokenEx error that occurred when editing a saved credit card and then attempting to add a new card on the Save Payments page.
- Added storage of the Payflow Pro ppRefvalue to the Token2 field on CreditCardTransaction records, providing access to the 17-character ppRef without replacing the existing pnRef value.
- Fixed an Index was outside the bounds of the array exception that occurred during payment gateway response parsing when a cardholder name contained an ampersand character. The response parser incorrectly split field values on the & delimiter, causing fields without an = separator to throw an index error. As a result, orders failed to create despite a successful payment authorization, leading to an incomplete checkout flow.
- Fixed an error that occurred in the Rebuild Sitemap integration job when the GetDealerUrls pipe executed the ShouldAddDealerDetailsPages method with a null reference. The exception caused the sitemap post processor to fail, preventing successful sitemap generation. See Manually configured integration jobs.
- Fixed an exception that prevented the application from starting. The error occurred in AsyncPipeline.Register when scanning the ExtensionsAssembly for types without exception handling, causing startup to fail before dependency registration could complete.
- Fixed a timezone-related issue where published CMS page versions appeared up to several hours in the future on Configured Commerce instances whose SQL server ran in a timezone with a negative UTC offset (for example, EST, CST, or PST).
- Fixed an error that prevented Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) users from emailing order details from the VMI Order Details page. The VMI order details page was not included in the list of pages allowed for PDF generation, causing the email action to fail. Added the VMI Order Details page to the allowed list so that order confirmation emails can be sent successfully.
- Added an Application Insights page view event tracking to the Spire storefront. Previously, page view telemetry was not emitted from the Spire site, leaving teams without visibility into storefront page traffic within Azure Application Insights.
- Added a binding redirect for Microsoft.IdentityModel.Tokens to resolve an assembly version conflict that caused deployment failures.
- Fixed a Cannot access a closed file error that caused the S3 image upload integration job to fail. The Transfer method disposed file streams before the yielded async upload tasks completed, resulting in closed streams at the point of read. Restructured stream handling so that non-zip files open and close their own streams per upload, and zip archive entries are eagerly extracted into memory before the upload task executes, ensuring streams remain accessible throughout the upload operation.
- Fixed an issue where page views on the 404 Page Not Found page were not tracked by Product Recommendations, preventing that page from contributing to recommendation data and behavioral analytics.
- Fixed a regression in the Admin Console where the website-specific value indicator icon and tooltip no longer displayed on global default settings that had been overridden at the website level.
- Fixed an issue in SqlExecuteStoredProcedure where the commandTimeoutparameter was accepted but never applied to the underlying SQL command, causing all stored procedure executions to fall back to the default 30-second database timeout.
- Updated the Export Product Feed job to generate fully qualified image URLs. The job now includes the CDN domain in image paths. Previously, only relative paths were exported, so product images did not display in Product Recommendations.
- Added the Polly library to the allowed third-party libraries list. Developers can use Polly to implement retry, circuit breaker, and timeout policies in custom integrations.
- Hardened the retry logic for IronPDF document generation. The updated logic handles transient gRPC connection failures more reliably. This prevents PDF email delivery from failing after the first attempt for a given user.
- Updated the TinyMCE rich text editor license key to a version-locked key for TinyMCE 8.1.2. This replaces the previous time-limited key and prevents license warnings in the Admin Console.
- Improved Spreedly payment token handling for the Cybersource gateway. The system now stores only the subscriptionId from the Cybersource response. This resolves checkout errors that occurred when saving a card through Spreedly.
- Fixed the unhandled error that occurred when searching after signing in on sites using Commerce Search v3. A null facet value in the filter string caused the error. Commerce Search now falls back to Elasticsearch when attribute sync is incomplete. A descriptive log message replaces the unhandled exception.
- Fixed the issue where the order source was set to Web instead of Punchout for orders created through a Punchout session. The system now assigns the correct order source for Punchout OrderRequests.
- Fixed the issue where the recently purchased list did not update after a checkout. The list intermittently displayed stale data or appeared empty. Reloading the page did not resolve the problem. The list now refreshes correctly after a purchase.
- Fixed the issue where customer segment groups did not apply to CMS content variants. Header variants targeted at a specific customer segment were not visible to those customers. Content variant rules based on customer segments now evaluate correctly.
- Fixed the unhandled error that occurred when the Product.UrlSegment property was marked as non-translatable. The error message was "There was no propertyDefinition found for UrlSegment on Product type." Adding a product to the cart no longer throws an exception for this configuration.
- Added the Application Insights Disable Database Tracking toggle within Admin Console > Developer. When enabled, the setting filters out SQL dependency telemetry before it leaves the application, reducing Azure data storage costs associated with high-volume database interaction logging.
- Fixed the unhandled error that occurred when performing product searches with Commerce Search v3 enabled.
- Fixed the unhandled error that occurred with Commerce Search v3 when sorting search results by price if the results contained unit of measure products.
- Fixed the issue where Commerce Search v3 displayed duplicate products in search results after performing searches or sorting operations.
- Fixed the issue where Product Recommendations incorrectly tracked child variants as their parent product in Cart and Checkout pages.
- Improved the performance of v2 Products API calls with relevancy enabled for Commerce Search v3.
Important When using Commerce Search v3, you must review and update any existing custom product search extensions as needed. The product search pipeline has been updated, including changes to the order of execution and the pipes overridden by Google Retail Search. Review the Commerce Search v3 product search pipeline documentation to ensure your customizations align with the updated pipeline behavior.
- Fixed an issue where the OrderPackagerStandard failed to save auto-created packages in .NET 4.8 environments and resolved a bug in ProcessShipSeparatelyOrderLines that incorrectly calculated package weights as zero when QtyPerShippingPackage was zero. These improvements apply to both Cart v1 and Cart v2.
- Fixed an issue where you could select archived products when creating promotion codes.
- Fixed vunerabilities with the react-router dependency.
- Added a TinyMCE Editor control to the Application Dictionary for custom properties.
- Improved HTML content on the server-side of Spire to prevent malformed HTML tags that cause unresponsive issues on the Product Detail page.
- Updated the Block Anonymous Traffic feature to use information from Cloudflare to identify the user’s country.
