Inventory
Manage product inventory
Product inventory is typically controlled by integration with an ERP. If you perform refresh jobs to update inventory, you can use the Warehouses tab for products to show which products are stocked in a particular warehouse or not and this feeds the inventory availability messaging.
Manage inventory and availability messaging
You can manage the Inventory Management system within Optimizely Configured Commerce manually or integrate it with an ERP. Inventory clearly displays on the website to show customers whether a product is In Stock, Low Stock, or Out of Stock.
Hide pricing and inventory
Optimizely Configured Commerce lets your assigned website users hide pricing and inventory while displaying key information for products and services. This is helpful if you have customer-specific pricing and inventory that you do not want to show to a potential customer during an in-person visit.
Real time pricing and inventory
Optimizely Configured Commerce offers real-time pricing and inventory services to ensure your website displays the most current data directly from your Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This approach provides up-to-the-minute information, unlike generic services that rely on less frequent integration jobs.
Real-time calls if ERP API server is down
In the event the ERP API server is down (such as pricing or inventory availability) and you use real-time calls on your site, customers are still able to use Add to Cart functionality throughout the site, but are unable to check out.
Modify the low stock setting
. The Web InventoryLowStockQuantity Application Setting is what controls when the Low Stock messaging is displayed on the Product page of the website.
Warehouses overview
For the most part, warehouses are commonly managed through the ERP and not the Admin Console. However, the Admin Console does provide a wide variety of customizations and control.
Create a warehouse
Warehouses must be created, as they are not available by default. Use the following steps to create a warehouse Go to Admin Console > Shipping & Fulfillment > Warehouses.
Assign an alternate warehouse
This article provides the necessary steps to assign an Alternate Warehouse. To assign an Alternate Warehouse, multiple warehouses must already exist within Optimizely Configured Commerce.
Assign warehouses to products
In order for a product to have inventory, it must have a warehouse assigned to it. A warehouse can be either a physical or logical segregation of inventory.
Work with units of measure
Optimizely Configured Commerce allows users to purchase in multiple units of measure (UoM's) and have the system adapt to the pricing and inventory implications of these alternate units. Base units of measure are set at the Product level.
View availability by warehouse
Use this functionality to add a View Availability by Warehouse link below inventory availability messages, for example on product detail pages, product list pages and in the cart. When customers click the link, the Warehouse Inventory window appears and shows the inventory quantity for each warehouse assigned to the selected product.
Add products with multiple units of measure to a single list
Lists allow for a product with multiple units of measure to be save multiple times to a single list, each containing a different unit of measure. Saving a single product multiple time allows for an end user to order the exact quantity of the product without having to search through multiple list to find the correct unit of measure.
