Create a guest user experience
Optimizely Configured Commerce administrators can choose to allow Guest Users to access and place orders on the commerce site. Guest Users are users unconnected to an existing user or customer account, and commonly are either one-off site visitors, or new site visitors who have not yet set up an account.
Manage guest access
As an Administrator, you can set Optimizely Configured Commerce to let unregistered users or guests access and checkout from websites. This may help increase the number of transactions as customers can avoid creating an account.
Create a customer
Customers in Optimizely Configured Commerce contain customer information (such as Address, Phone Number, and so on), and are assigned to a User. Customer records are versatile and accommodate the following models Single Customer to Single User (such as a typical B2C or direct B2B relationship) Single User to Multiple Customers (such as a Configured Commerce implementation where a sales rep needs the ability to place orders for multiple customers) Multiple Users assigned to a single customer (such as A department store with multiple buyers) Customers can be added to the Admin Console in four different ways Prepopulated through an ERP integration.
Import customers
One way to create customers is to export the existing customer list. Even if the current list is empty, export it, then populate the list with the new customers and re-import it back into the Admin Console.
Assign customers to users
Assigning Customers to Users is required because the Customer contains the data necessary for shipping, billing, restrictions, and other settings. The following steps explain the process of adding a Customer to a User Go to Admin Console .
Configure customer address fields
Users with ISC System , ISC Implementer , and ISC Admin roles have access to website specific Bill To and Ship To Address Configuration pages. On these pages users can configure what fields are shown, how many characters each field allows, and what fields are required for registration and checkout.
