Get started with currencies
To create a currency, a user must be an Optimizely Configured Commerce administrator. Configured Commerce can display and use multiple currencies.
Create a currency
The following steps are used to create a new currency and add it to the currencies available in the Admin Console. Go to Admin Console > Administration > Currencies .
Create multiple currencies
Creating multiple currencies in the Admin Console allows customers to choose which currency they view while shopping on a website. In this scenario, the user wants to create the United States dollar as the default currency and the Euro as a secondary currency.
Assign a currency to a website
Currencies must be assigned to a website and marked live for customers to select and use them on the website. The following steps are used to assign a currency to a website Go to Admin Console > Websites .
Create a currency conversion rate
Follow these steps to add a new currency conversion rate to an already existing currency. Go to Admin Console > Administration > Localization > Currencies .
Provide ISO 4217 codes for currency
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) created a currency standard to develop codes for use in trade and banking. The organization agreed to a three-letter alphabetic code that is determined by the country abbreviation and the country's corresponding currency.
Troubleshoot currency issues
This article outlines two use cases and actions to consider when using the Multi-Currency functionality. If a currency is not appearing on the website, the currency may not be assigned to the website.
Change the active currency symbol on a website
Changing the user currency is possible once the currency has been setup in Optimizely Configured Commerce. Once a User/Shopper has logged in, a currency selector drop down will appear in the header, showing the currently used currency symbol.
Use a currency rating service
Configured Commerce supports the use of a currency rating service to automatically update currency rates through custom integration. A standard currency rating service is not provided.
