Optimizely Configured Commerce's Search v3, built on Google Vertex AI Search for Commerce, offers advanced, AI-driven search capabilities designed to improve product discovery, increase conversion rates, and boost revenue. Vertex AI Search uses a tiered ranking system, which you can think of as a ladder with four rungs.
Commerce Search v3 prerequisites
Before you can enable Commerce Search v3 for your Optimizely Configured Commerce instance, you must follow these important prerequisites. You must have one of the following Optimizely Configured Commerce versions June STS release Later version You must ensure all languages have a language tag.
Integrate Optimizely Data Platform
To use Commerce Search v3 with Optimizely Configured Commerce, you must integrate with Optimizely Data Platform (ODP) to process and send the user events data to Google Retail Search. You must enable ODP and configure the following integration jobs for exporting products, warehouses, orders, customers, user profiles, and customer user profiles data to ODP.
User events sync
After you integrate Optimizely Data Platform (ODP) to enable Commerce Search v3, you must create integration jobs to sync user events and historical orders from ODP to Google Cloud Vertex AI Search for Commerce. The following user events are mapped from ODP and synced to the Vertex AI.
Enable Commerce Search v3
Follow these steps to enable Commerce Search v3 for Optimizely Configured Commerce. Work with your partner or developer to update any Elasticsearch v7 custom extension pipes and any Spire Blueprints to the supported release versions for the Product Listing Page, Search Input, and Autocomplete.
Test Commerce Search v3
After you implement Commerce Search v3 for Optimizely Configured Commerce, you can test the default controls to see if you need to edit any settings. Ensure that the Daily User Events Sync integration job runs successfully.

Limitations of Commerce Search v3
Commerce Search v3 for Optimizely Configured Commerce does not support some features, while other features are supported with limitations. Commerce Search v3 does not support the following features Customer-specific part number search – Google Vertex AI does not currently support searches with customer-specific part numbers assigned at the customer level.
