The Application Dictionary is the backbone of the Admin Console, controlling field names, field labels, language options, field length and securing access and data requirements based on assigned User Roles. Because the Application Dictionary is so vital to the Admin Console ( improper use will cause issues on your site ), access to it is restricted to ISC System, ISC Admin, and ISC Implementer roles.
Set application directory properties
The Application Dictionary controls, among other things, field names, field labels, language options, field length, and securing access and data requirements based on assigned User Roles. As a result, enabling, disabling, and customizing the functionality of the Admin Console and the Website is often done within the Application Dictionary.
Entity permissions
Individual roles can be edited within the Application Dictionary. Roles can be given Can Create , Can Edit , Can View , and Can Delete permissions.
Hidden pages
By default, the Admin Console hides a number of pages that are seldom used or require custom development. This is done to enhance usability and increase simplicity.
Turn on master editing
By default, Optimizely Configured Commerce hides a number of fields that are seldom used or require custom development. This is done to improve the user experience and decrease any confusion caused by exposing unnecessary fields.
