Platform Guides
API
The Optimizely Configured Commerce REST API is made up of RESTful-based services that interact with data within the context of user interaction using JSON objects. These API objects and their respective methods are based on common HTTP verbs.
Architecture
The application structure has been refactored to make use of widgets and RESTful APIs. The Storefront is presented with AngularJS directives that are initialized with the business logic from the Insite module.
Content Manager
With Optimizely {user\["product-name"]} Web Content Manager you get a solution that includes the same core web content management (WCM) functionality you would find in separate enterprise WCM solutions. With strong WCM technology embedded in {user\["product-name"]}, the need for a separate content management solution is eliminated, lowering the total cost of ownership of your e-commerce solution.
Data Model
Optimizely has moved from NHibernate to Entity Framework in the 4. 2 release of {user\["product-name"]}.
Self-managed start with Configured Commerce
For the Admin Console to display the contents of the website within the newly created domain, it needs to be added to the Admin Console. Complete the following steps to add the domain to the Admin Console Go to Admin Console > Websites.
Handlers
Handlers are objects that are responsible for the heavy lifting of objects and processing of business logic. In the Optimizely {user\["product-name"]} architecture, handlers take control right after the REST API receives and initially processes the request.
Helpers and utilities
IJobLogger XmlDatasetManager DataSet Table and Column Names These are specialty classes that should only be used within the integration workflow in objects like preprocessors, integration processors, and postprocessors. IUnitOfWork ISiteContext IAuthenticationService ICookieManager These classes can be used most places in the application, but are also used in Handlers and Pipes.
Performance tuning
There will be variables based on environment differences, tool selection, site architecture, and common user behaviors. There are a number of testing strategies, appropriate for different scenarios.
Pipelines
Pipelines are similar to handler chains. They are made up of one or more classes, called pipes.
Search architecture
The Elasticsearch Index objects provide access to the search index using the NEST IElasticClient interface. Elasticsearch uses the Search Url application setting and if the Search Url is blank it returns an empty search index.
Security - Platform
Optimizely {user\["product-name"]} uses Identity Server and the OWIN middleware to authenticate requests to the platform. This contains information that shows how the security architecture is applicable in varying scenarios such as site access and calls to the RESTful API's.
