Import ODP audiences into Configured Commerce

Along with sending data to Optimizely Data Platform (ODP), Optimizely Configured Commerce lets you sync standard audiences between the two platforms. If Configured Commerce does not have a segment referenced in ODP, the synchronization process automatically adds it.
Install the Configured Commerce Segments Exporter app in ODP
- Obtain the API secret using one of the following methods:
- Submit a request to Optimizely Support to receive the API Secret to import ODP segments into Configured Commerce.
- Log in to the Configured Commerce Admin Console with the ISC_Implementer role. Go to Settings > Integration > Personas Import API Key. You can either enter a custom value manually or click Generate to create a random 20-character secret.
- Go to ODP and update the URL to include the following path to install the CFG Segments Exporter app: directory?pathname=%2Fapp%2Fcfg_segments_exporter%2F1.0.0-beta.1. For example, https://app.zaius.com/app?scope=1929#/directory?pathname=%2Fapp%2Fcfg_segments_exporter%2F1.0.0-beta.1.
- Click Install App.
- Set the CFG Endpoint. It should look like the following: your-configured-commerce-site-base-address/api/v1/odpimport/personas.
- Use the API Secret you obtained in step 1.
Configure a campaign to export audiences from ODP
- Create or select an audience in ODP.
- Go to Activations and click Create New Campaign. Select One-Time.
- Name your campaign.
- Assign the audience from the previous step and click Apply.
- Go to Touchpoints and click Add a touchpoint.
- Click Edit and select the CFG Segments Exporter channel.
- Click Segment's data and enter a Segment Name. Message fields (like Message A) do not affect the integration and can remain unchanged.
- Go back to the campaign details page and click Select start time and schedule to set when the campaign should run. Click Apply.
- Click Save.
Confirm the imports in Configured Commerce
- Check the PersonaUserProfile table in the Configured Commerce database for user profile mappings.
- Go to the Admin Console and check for new customer segments. These segments should have ODP as the Persona Source and be locked for editing.
Known limitations
- Each ODP segment requires a manually created campaign.
- Users removed from an ODP segment are not automatically removed from Configured Commerce.
- To remove users from a customer segment in Configured Commerce, delete the persona manually and re-sync.
