The OCP database is not included in the free version of OCP. The free version syncs data in real-time without using the OCP database, letting you access public apps and data syncs.

Contact your Customer Success Manager if you have any questions.
:::

The Optimizely Connect Platform (OCP) **Sync Manager **lets you map data between Optimizely products and initiate a scheduled or real-time, automated data sync that runs until you pause or delete it.

## Create a data sync

1. Go to **Data Setup > Sync Manager** in the OCP UI.
2. Click **New Sync**.
3. Complete the following:
   - **Sync Name** – Enter a name for this data sync.
   - **Source** – Select your data source, which is the product and object data that you want to send to another product.
   - **Destination** – Select your destination, which is the product, instance, and object where you want to sync the data.

     **Note**

     You can build an app that creates [custom data sync destinations](https://docs.developers.optimizely.com/optimizely-connect-platform/docs/custom-data-sync-destinations).
     :::
   - **Field Mapping** – Map each specific data field that you want to sync from your source product to your destination product.
     - Click **Auto-map fields **to automatically map data fields from your source product to your destination product, eliminating the need to manually map individual source fields to the destination fields. The system matches text similarities between source and destination fields. Selecting **Auto-map fields** also creates an **Auto-mapped Fields **filter, which you can use to review the mapped fields.
     - Click **Select source field…** to choose a source object or array from the drop-down list. Enter your field name in the search bar to find a specific field by name. You can also select nested fields within a parent object. For example, under **Content**, you can choose data types such as **Type** or **Value**. Click **Compatible** to view fields that match the required format, or **Suggested** to see the recommended fields.
   - **Sync Schedule** – Select the time interval that you want the data to sync.
4. Click **Save**.

After you configure a data sync, the first sync automatically syncs all existing data for the selection in OCP, and subsequent syncs will sync records that were updated since the last sync.
