The File Export app lets you export your data from Optimizely Connect Platform (OCP) to Amazon S3.

## Locate your Amazon S3 credentials

1. Go to **Data Setup > Integrations**.
2. Click **AWS**.
3. Click **Generate Access Keys**. You only need to complete this step if you have not already generated your Amazon S3 access keys in OCP.
4. Copy the **Key ID **and **Secret Access Key**.

5. Copy and paste these credentials into the [Amazon S3 command-line interface (CLI)](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/latest/userguide/cli-chap-getting-started.html) or a third-party application, like [Cyberduck](https://app.archbee.com/docs/YUvY4Or1GBz9I2EwqMB7Y/1duiiBUZSFnVPLjJD_snN#YCfXk) to complete the connection between your OCP and Amazon S3 account.

## Install and configure the app

1. Go to **Data Setup > App Directory**.
2. Select the **File Export** app.

3. Click **Install App**. The **Settings** tab displays.

4. Select the desired **Object** and **Object Fields** on the **Settings** tab.
5. Click **Export** to initiate the file export.
6. Click **Check Status** to check the status of the export. When complete, the app returns the S3 folder where you can find the exported files

7. Copy the S3 folder the app returns, and paste it in the following command to download the file from the specified folder in the S3 bucket. Replace `filename` with your desired name for this export file and replace `local file path` with the location you want to save this file.

You can also export data from OCP to Amazon S3 using the Start Export Job API. Then you can check the status of your export using the Get Export Job Status API.
