ODP Web SDK
Get started with the ODP Web SDK
Before getting started with the ODP Web SDK, you should be familiar with the schemas and data structure of ODP. See Understand ODP .
Customers
Calling customer() lets you send a new customer object or update a customer object's fields in Optimizely Data Platform (ODP). The customer() method includes the VUID (cookie ID) on all requests automatically.
Events
Events describe actions your customers perform or actions that result in an update to their customer record such as viewing your web page or visiting your store in New York. You can record online events from your web page by calling zaius.
Objects and fields
Data in Optimizely Data Platform (ODP) is stored in collections called objects (also known as a database table). Objects are composed of fields.
Web push
If you want to create your own web push subscribe experience, ODP supports custom initialization options. To manually handle Web Push initialization (instead of automatically initializing) go to step 5 of Web Push wizard within ODP Account Settings > Integrations > Web Push .
Web modals and embeds
To manually display web content based on your own criteria, ODP provides an SDK method for your development team to utilize. You can trigger a dialog box in custom scenarios—such as when your customer adds an item to cart or logs in—by calling the dispatch() method.
