**Note**

The terms *audiences* and *segments* are interchangeable. Optimizely has updated all *segments* to *audiences* on the **Audiences** page and is updating the UI on other pages. See  [Understand audiences](docId\:v-gHiL9jfINBey-4QNtFM) to get information on audiences.

You can export customer information by customer profile, list, or audience in CSV or JSON formats.

## Export a single profile

**Note**

You must have the **PII Viewer** role to use the following features. See [Manage PII in ODP](docId\:W3Ahe6Yp371wKcVWmjRu5) for information.

1. Go to **Customers > Profiles**.
2. Use the search bar in the **Customer Profiles** section to locate the customer.

3. Click the **Export** icon and choose the information you wish to include.

4. Click **Export** to confirm your selection and download the file.

## Export a list of profiles

1. Go to **Customers > Profiles**.
2. Use the search bar to locate and select the desired list.

3. Click the **Export** icon and choose the information you wish to include.

4. Click **Export** to confirm your selection and download the file.

## Export a segment of profiles

1. Go to **Customers > Profiles > + Segment**.
2. Use the search bar to locate the desired audience.

3. Click the audience and then click **Apply**.
4. Click the **Export** icon and choose the information you want to include.

5. Click **Export** to confirm your selection and download the file.
