You can set image renditions (based on size, crop, and format) to automatically generate variations of images that you upload to the library. Image renditions provide access to images for your most common use cases and eliminate time-consuming manual edits.

When you view an asset in the library, you can view linked related assets.

## Set image renditions

1. Go to your avatar > **Asset Management**.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/uaZAIQYlZUvK5A-l-kDOK_renditions-renditions-list-table.png" size="100" isUploading="false" width="770" height="210" darkWidth="770" darkHeight="210" showCaption="false" indent="1"}

2. In the **Renditions** section, click **Add**. The **Add Rendition** dialog box displays.
3. To keep the original image size, toggle off **Resize/Crop**. Toggle on **Resize/Crop** to convert file formats and select the resample filter.

4. Select your specifications and click **Save**.
   You can view renditions in the following places:

   - The **Library** view displays renditions on your assets. Select an image to see the asset attributes. You can also view image renditions from the asset picker in a task.

   ::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/a45JAJgaRyBdm9Rig6dEI_home-basketball-rendition-comparison.png" size="90" isUploading="false" width="800" height="219" darkWidth="800" darkHeight="219" showCaption="false"}

   - In **Related Assets,** when you are [editing an image](docId:8bWD7Q_hh_HDta6798NO2).

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/1LvFjf9EPMt9Oe-fh5o0A_related-assets-related-assets-renditions-list.png" size="90" isUploading="false" width="719" height="430" darkWidth="719" darkHeight="430" showCaption="false" indent="1"}

## Keep aspect ratio

You can keep the image's aspect ratio based on the number of pixels you specify, as shown in the following examples.

### Width 1000 pixels

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/KmDD-kHEWbL0NejwyO4vW_keep-aspect-ratio-keep-aspect-ratio-based-on-width-setting.png" size="70" isUploading="false" width="651" height="200" darkWidth="651" darkHeight="200" showCaption="false"}

The following image shows how **Keep aspect ratio** works with a **Width** of 1000:

The following image shows how **Keep aspect ratio** works with a **Height** of 1000:

## Resize/Crop

You can set the width and height to resize and crop the image.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/LnGNYBieuYijC_8Wk54ed_resize-crop-resize-and-crop-width-height-setting.png" size="80" isUploading="false" width="665" height="321" darkWidth="665" darkHeight="321" showCaption="false"}

The following image shows how **Resize/Crop** works with **Width** 1080 and **Height** 1080:

## Automatic smart focal point

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/DRyCW1p-WqMtgqqTDA6Sl_enable-smart-focal-point-smart-focal-point-checkbox-enabled.png" size="70" isUploading="false" width="637" height="109" darkWidth="637" darkHeight="109" showCaption="false"}

**Enable Smart Focal Point** to use AI to detect an image's subject automatically. This option centers the crop around what it detects as the image's important part. Crops that do not use **Smart Focal Point** use the center of the image.

## Manual smart focal point

You can specify where you want the focal point to be in an image.

1. From the asset's options menu (...), select **Adjust Focal Point**.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/uSoc1Eqozs6JpfHw_Rn2Y_sample-page-adjust-focal-point-menu-option-highlighted.png" size="40" isUploading="false" width="420" height="441" darkWidth="420" darkHeight="441" showCaption="false"}

2. Move the focal point (purple circle) to the preferred position and click **Save**.

   :::hint{type="info"}
   **Note**

   When choosing a focal point, crop renditions use the new one.

3. Select the asset in the library and open **Related Assets** to view the image rendition.

## Resize to fit

You can set the container height and width to keep the image aspect ratio of the original image by adding white padding to fill the container size.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/EEKqZrDSXsRbF-sWIsBar_resize-to-fit-resize-to-fit-width-height-setting.png" size="70" isUploading="false" width="650" height="200" darkWidth="650" darkHeight="200" showCaption="false"}

The following image shows how **Resize to Fit** works with a  **Width** of 1080 and **Height** of 1080

## Image formats

You can automatically convert image files to a specified format. Conversion options include:

- **Keep original** – Retains the original file's format.
- **JPG** – You can also set a quality level to help you reduce the file size of the resulting image. (You should specify 80% or above.)
- **PNG**
- **WEBP**

:::hint{type="info"}
TIFF files support rendition generation. You can generate JPG and PNG renditions from TIFF source assets.
:::

## Resampling

You can also choose which resampling filter you'd like to use for your resulting image. You should accept the default, but you can select the following filters:

- **Bilinear**
- **Bicubic**
- **Nearest-Neighbor**

These settings combine to create one pre-set.

## View renditions

Click an asset in the library and open **Related Assets** to view variations of your image.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/TlDOyIRscPgLVgGcd6W9i_image-information-related-assets-renditions-generated-list.png" size="80" isUploading="false" width="596" height="724" darkWidth="596" darkHeight="724" showCaption="false"}

## Use renditions

You can do the following with an image rendition:

- Click **Download** (icon) to download it to your desktop.
- Open a preview and click **Create Task** from the image.
- Select an image rendition from the **Asset Picker** or Optimizely Content Management System (CMS 12) from a task.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/BrbvVORKJ5iIeSMZye5kI/bvue_oUG3IxsIzA7yOX3v_original-image-original-image-usage-create-task-highlighted.png" size="90" isUploading="false" width="738" height="798" darkWidth="738" darkHeight="798" showCaption="false"}

## Override latest version

When a user adds a new version of an asset to the **Library**, you can set CMP to overwrite existing renditions with renditions of the latest asset version. If the URL to a rendition is used elsewhere, the URL remains the same and automatically updates to the new rendition.

To configure this option, click the drop-down list beside your icon and click **Asset Management**. Under **Renditions**, select **Overrides Latest Version**.

You can turn off this feature by deselecting the checkbox.
