Use the Import/Export Content option in Spire CMS to transfer content between other websites and environments in Spire, like promoting content created in a Sandbox environment to Production.

If you are working with subsites, be sure the subsite exists in both environments before migrating any content.

You need the role of CMS\_ContentEditor, CMS\_ContentDeveloper, CMS\_SiteEditor, CMS\_Publisher and CMS\_SystemAdmin to access this functionality.

**Note**

Importing and exporting does not currently work for [shared content widgets](docId\:TMvALbOROIN9vlnvxQbMN).
:::

## Export content

You can export the content from one Spire website in its entirety and import it into another one.
