[Optimizely Agent Platform](docId\:IzAAN1fw7whD1HB4iODAB) is an agent orchestration platform embedded in Content Management System (CMS) 13. Mark helps you explore complex questions, automate common tasks, and make more confident decisions without leaving CMS.

## What Mark does in CMS 13

Agent Platform integrates with CMS 13 through a set of purpose-built tools that connect the [Mark chat interface](docId\:dtNBEttEGVvkhNkwNypLM) to your CMS content and configuration. After installation, use Mark to

- **Create and manage content** – Create drafts, update properties, publish pages, and manage content variations across locales.
- **Optimize for search engines** – Run AI-powered SEO analysis and apply recommendations to content items.
- **Improve AI discoverability** – Audit pages for large language model (LLM) discoverability and apply JSON-LD schema markup for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
- **Manage content types** – Create, update, and delete content type definitions and property groups.
- **Manage Visual Builder styles** – Create, list, and update display templates that define styles and layouts for Visual Builder content types, base types, and layout nodes.
- **Upload media** – Upload media assets into CMS from a URL.

All operations respect your CMS permissions. You can only read, create, edit, or delete content you have permission to access.

## How it works

Agent Platform connects to CMS 13 through the following two components:

- **Mark chat** (`Optimizely.Cms.OpalChat`) – Renders the Mark chat widget in the CMS editorial UI and handles authentication with Opti ID.
- **Agent Platform Tools** (`Optimizely.Cms.Opal.Tools`) – Exposes CMS-specific tools that Agent Platform discovers and invokes on behalf of the authenticated user.
