Extend the global menu to give editors access to Content Management System (CMS) features and other Optimizely products from a single navigation bar.

Add items through either of the following approaches:

- The `[MenuItem]` attribute adds an interface to the menu. See [Add and configure menu items](docId\:trFinGvaQyPRZLSkofl7N).
- A custom menu provider returns localized, permission-aware items. See [Use menu providers](docId\:plC-XfMOUYuVT_tOJMxuN).

Attributes and menu providers must reside in an assembly configured as a [shell module](docId\:DNal_JrQ2rB1HrWlcgbGo).
