Agents in Agent Platform are purpose-built AI agents that complete specific, well-defined tasks. They support the following two interaction modes:

- **Single-shot** – The agent runs once and returns a result.
- **Multi-turn** – The agent stays active in [Mark chat](docId\:dtNBEttEGVvkhNkwNypLM) for follow-up instructions.

Create, customize, and manage agents using prompts, input variables, tools, and inference level.

## Access your agents

1. Go to [home.optimizely.com](https://home.optimizely.com).
2. Select your organization.
3. Click **Mark**.

## Create an agent

See [Create specialized agents](docId\:tZPJWDyE1GSB-epLsUh5S) or [Create a workflow agent](docId\:KWaI2TBwD38sN7p74exoy) depending on what type of agent you want to create.

## Use an agent

Invoke agents in the following ways:

- Triggered by `@` mention in [Mark chat](docId\:dtNBEttEGVvkhNkwNypLM).
- Triggered within a [workflow agent](docId:2HD0fUsIsfdek516VtN9l).

## Share an agent

Share agents to control who can find, run, and edit them, or to make them available across your organization. See [Share agents and manage visibility](docId\:laxzyBnBQE8VCkD7f6-qu).

## Delete or update an agent used in a workflow

Mark warns you before you delete or change an agent that other workflows depend on, so you do not break those workflows. This applies to specialized agents and workflow agents.

## Edit an agent

See [Manage specialized agents](docId\:cFB_b7jzgV6k0Ry_cVXSS) or [Manage workflow agents](docId\:MdEwF6vrQCh0zC-A5XqX2).

### Update an agent that other workflows use

When you save a change to an agent that other workflows share, Mark displays the `Update agent across workflows` message and lists the affected workflows. Choose one of the following:

- **Confirm changes** – Update the agent in every workflow listed.
- **Save as new agent** – Create a copy with your changes, and leave the shared agent unchanged.
- **Cancel** – Return without saving.

The workflow names link to those workflows, so you can open each one.

## Delete an agent

See [Delete a specialized agent](docId\:cFB_b7jzgV6k0Ry_cVXSS) or [Delete a workflow agent](docId\:MdEwF6vrQCh0zC-A5XqX2)

### Delete an agent that a workflow uses

When you try to delete an agent that is a step in one or more workflow agents, Mark blocks the deletion. Mark displays the message `This agent is still connected to other workflows` and lists each workflow with its creator and status. Open each listed workflow, remove the step, then delete the agent.

The delete block covers three cases:

- Specialized agents used as steps in a workflow agent.
- Specialized agents used to evaluate conditions in a conditional step.
- Workflow agents used as nested steps in other workflows.

## Watch an agent

Watch agents to receive notifications about changes, failures, and guardrail alerts. See [Watch agents](docId\:c0RotUOJS1TL7lUaMnZYn) for how to subscribe to an agent and manage watchers.
