The ClickUp remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector in Optimizely Agent Platform lets Mark interact directly with your ClickUp workspace. Mark helps you manage your workspace hierarchy, automate task creation, and track productivity without switching between applications.

**Note**

The ClickUp remote MCP is managed by ClickUp. For details, see [ClickUp's MCP Server](https://developer.clickup.com/docs/connect-an-ai-assistant-to-clickups-mcp-server) in the ClickUp documentation.
:::

First, an [Agent Platform administrator](docId\:pe0pbUJveWrG8ewvZWDRE) must [Connect the ClickUp remote MCP to Agent Platform](docId\:BUNfk54YINiRQauuEl6dB). After connecting the MCP server, individual Agent Platform [users](docId\:L0Ntt9JQmG6fQIJK_Y7C7) and [agent builders](docId\:HOJ_6dibwNf8Qz7WMIDie) can log in to ClickUp to access their information from Agent Platform. Administrators only need to connect the ClickUp remote MCP once.

## Connect the ClickUp remote MCP to Agent Platform

**Note**

The first person to connect a third-party service to Agent Platform should be an administrator of that service. Administrator access installs the complete set of tools, so Agent Platform adds every available tool. If a non-administrator connects the service first, Agent Platform installs only the tools that account can access.
:::

Agent Platform administrators connect and grant access to ClickUp from Agent Platform. After granting access, administrators select which tools to enable in Agent Platform and optionally customize their display names.

### Add ClickUp connection

As an Agent Platform administrator, complete the following steps:

1. Go to **Connectors** in Agent Platform.
2. (Optional) Enter *ClickUp* in the search bar to filter the connectors list.
3. Click **Connect** on the **ClickUp** tile.

4. Log in to your ClickUp account.

6. Click **Connect Workspace**.

A confirmation message displays and you can close the pop-up window.

### Configure Agent Platform tools

After [adding the ClickUp connection](docId\:BUNfk54YINiRQauuEl6dB), Mark prompts you to select which tools to enable and optionally customize their display names.

As an Agent Platform administrator, complete the following steps:

1. Deselect any tools you do not want to add to Agent Platform.
2. (Optional) Update any tool's display name.
3. Click **Finish**.

The ClickUp tile displays **Connect** on the **Connectors** tab for Agent Platform users to authenticate with their personal accounts.

To update the available tools or names, see [Update tools](docId\:BUNfk54YINiRQauuEl6dB).

## Authenticate with ClickUp

Each Agent Platform user and agent builder logs in to ClickUp individually to access their ClickUp data from Agent Platform. User-level authentication ensures you access only the data your ClickUp account is authorized to view.

:::hint{type="info"}
**Note**

Before you begin, confirm that an Agent Platform administrator has [connected the ClickUp remote MCP](docId\:BUNfk54YINiRQauuEl6dB). Until an administrator connects it, the ClickUp tile displays **Contact admin** instead of **Connect** and you cannot select it.
:::

To authenticate, complete the following steps in Agent Platform:

1. Go to **Connectors**.
2. (Optional) Enter *ClickUp* in the search bar to filter the connectors list.
3. Click **Connect** on the **ClickUp** tile.
4. Log in to ClickUp.

After you connect to ClickUp, the ClickUp connector tools your administrator added become available in [Mark chat](docId\:dtNBEttEGVvkhNkwNypLM), [specialized agents](docId\:WyA1gsk6tWr84Hum7a1Nx), and [workflows](docId:2HD0fUsIsfdek516VtN9l).

## ClickUp connector tools

The ClickUp connector tools are available in Agent Platform after an administrator [connects the remote MCP](docId\:BUNfk54YINiRQauuEl6dB) and you [log in with ClickUp](docId\:BUNfk54YINiRQauuEl6dB). The available tools depend on which tools your administrator enabled. For a full list of available tools and actions, see [ClickUp's MCP Server](https://developer.clickup.com/docs/connect-an-ai-assistant-to-clickups-mcp-server) in the ClickUp documentation.

## Update tools

To rename, add, or remove tools, an Agent Platform administrator must delete the ClickUp tools registry and re-add it. To do so, complete the following steps:

1. Follow the steps in [Delete a tool registry](docId\:SXjD3qqg-0gS2g4KajfyO).
2. [Add ClickUp connection](docId\:BUNfk54YINiRQauuEl6dB).
3. [Configure Agent Platform tools](docId\:BUNfk54YINiRQauuEl6dB).
