The **Branded PowerPoint** skill is an org skill in the Optimizely Opal Skills Directory that reads your organization's master PowerPoint template once and creates a permanent deck-building skill that generates presentations using your exact colors, fonts, and layouts every time.

It applies to everyone in your organization. An administrator installs and configures it once.

## What the skill does

- Reads your organization's master PowerPoint template once, including every slide, color, font, and layout.
- Creates a second, permanent org skill that builds presentations from your template. The setup skill itself does not build decks.
- After setup, anyone in your organization can use the generated skill to build a new deck from a brief, rebrand an existing deck, or add slides to a deck without changing the existing ones.

## Before you begin

- You must have the **Manage Instructions** permission to install this skill. If you do not, click **Request** in the Skills Directory to ask an administrator to install it.
- Your master template must be a .pptx file. Opal doesn't change your original template.
- Have your answers and files ready. Opal asks for them during setup.

## Information Opal asks for

Opal asks for the following during setup. You can skip optional items.

- **Master Template** (Required) – Your organization's master PowerPoint template as a .pptx file. If Opal can't find a .pptx file, setup stops and tells you.
- **Deck Specifics and Notes** (Optional) – Anything the template doesn't show, such as rules for when to use each layout.

## Install the skill

1. Go to **Directory > Skills**.
2. Find **Branded PowerPoint** and click **Install**.
3. In the **Setup required** dialog, click **Set up in chat**.
4. Answer Opal's questions and upload any files it asks for.
5. Confirm the details when Opal asks.

## Use the skill

After setup, enter `/branded-powerpoint` in Opal Chat to run the skill on demand. Opal also applies it automatically when your request matches its **When to use** conditions. Try prompts like the following:

- *Build a 12-slide on-brand deck for our Q3 business review.*
- *Rebrand this existing deck onto our template.*
- *Add three slides to the deck we built last week.*

## Things to know

- Opal delivers decks as .pptx files only.
- The generated deck skill is live for everyone in your organization as soon as setup finishes.

## Update the skill

When Optimizely publishes a new version, **Update** displays on the skill's card in the Skills Directory. Opal keeps the information you provided during setup and asks only for anything the new version adds. See [Update a skill](docId\:jw_PeWvKOXocy3ihL5h9w).
